Curated With Care | Gemstone and Metal Origins
I begin your touchstone's story the right way, with consciously chosen and ethically sourced materials.
This space is all about connecting back with nature.
With the jewelry I create, the care goes all the way back to where and how I source my materials.
It is important that every step along the way is respectful and sustainable.

Gemstones and Crystals
For gemstones, I am a small business supporter. I do not buy my stones from big businesses. There are several jewelry supply companies that offer stones, along with anything else you need to make jewelry. But, I never really know where the stones they are selling come from. This affects how the stones feel when I hold them. I don't know how to explain it, they just feel off like something is blocked. That feeling raises too many questions for me.
Were they ethically sourced? Were they cut by a machine or by hand? Were the people that cut the stones paid properly for their time? If I am worried about the answer to any of those questions, then it's a no for me.

By choosing to go with other small businesses, I am supporting fellow artists in my industry. I can ask my questions knowing that I am going to get real answers. Then I get to pass that trust and transparency to you. I love having a connection with lapidary artists or vendors that have a kindred wonder and reverence when it comes to handling precious gems and crystals. It makes purchasing from them such a personal experience.
This does mean that a lot of my gems are one-of-a-kind or small batch free forms. No two stones are ever exactly the same. There is something so special in that. I do not purchase lab-created or dyed stones or heat-treated crystals. If something is altered in any way or not a natural stone, it will be clearly listed in the description.
Precious Metals
All of my sterling silver, gold and premade chains are purchased from two very longstanding U.S. based wholesale companies. I save all my scraps of silver, even the dust. I either send it off to refineries to be recycled or I use it myself.
Every Step Matters
Recycling and respecting these gemstones and precious metals is central to my work. I am always striving to be low waste and as gentle with the environment as I can be. I save packaging materials like a squirrel. Plucking through my stash for every package I send. Reusing bubble wrap is one more way I keep my footprint light.
