A Fall Visualization: Open the Door to Your Intuition
Are you stuck in a version of yourself you no longer recognize?
Are you wishing for change, but have no idea where to start ?
Fall is the perfect time to let yourself dream of something new.
You are the only one that has the answers to these questions. But, when have you really taken the time to ask and actually honestly listen to your inner knowing? We are taught from a young age that daydreaming is a waste of time. Women especially are taught to not only ignore, but distrust their intuition. You are reading this now knowing that is not true.
If we don't let ourselves dream into the lives we want we will never get there.
In this post, you'll learn about the symbols and energetic vibration associated with fall. When you understand and connect with autumnal energy you will open to a deeper connection within yourself.
Autmn: A Season of Surrender and Preparation
Change is literally in the air during fall. We can see birds beginning their travel to far off locations and colorful leaves dancing on the wind before they hit the ground.
When I talk about surrendering, I like to think about leaves flying on a cool breeze. It's a fluid action without force or resistance. The trees are not grasping at the spent part of themselves as it drifts away. They trust that those leaves will be replaced with fresh vibrant ones come spring.
There is more happening beneath the surface as growth winds down and energy flows towards their roots. Preparing for the quiet dormancy of winter. We can hear squirrels scurrying around burying acorns. If you're a gardener, you know that now is the perfect time to plant bulbs for spring, as most require the cold temperatures of winter to kick in their growth cycle.
We also need time, space and preparation to welcome in positive change into our lives.
Autumn is a potent time for reviewing what has, and has not, been serving your highest good.
Now that you understand the symbolism and you're feeling into the season of autumn, it's time to get into how you can use its transformative energy for yourself.
The good news is, you won't have everything figured out after just one go, so let's release that pressure right now. I created this cozy ritual to get you started. To open yourself to a world of daydreamy visualization. Where looking inward is your guide forward. Connecting to your intuition is an ongoing practice. It requires you to be honest, and judgement free, as you feel into yourself. Just like the trees in fall, you will know what leaves need to be dropped and where you need to redirect your energy.
As with any ritual here, this one is a choose your own adventure. Only have 10 minutes to sit with the visualization? That's enough. You want to make a full night of it? Freaking amazing! This practice is designed to meet you where you are at now.
The items on the list below are suggestions. As always, you do you. For me, I find that the more care and effort I put into setting up, the more present I am in my practice.
Sacred self connection is the highest form of self care you can do.
Once you are settled and ready in your safe space, center yourself with a deep cleansing breath. Focus on your intention. Your intention can simply be the want to start to reconnect with your intuition. You can also ask for guidance on what needs to fall out of your life, or maybe focus on what you are trying to call in and what you need to change to align with it. After you set your intention let it go with a thank you.
Read the visualization below. Close your eyes and sit in the energy of walking through the woods on a crisp bright fall day as long as you can. Let your mind wander where it wants without judgement. Once you come out of your visualization, take another cleansing breath and close your practice with a thank you.
Let yourself quietly sit with any thoughts or ideas that came to you on your walk. If you feel like nothing really came through, that's OK. You opened a door today sometimes that is all that was needed.
Let us begin...
Picture yourself in the middle of the woods on a bright sunny day. The sky is bright blue and full of fluffy white clouds. You can hear leaves rustling on a gentle breeze. The air is cool and crisp and it tickles your face as it passes by. The trees are a mix of reds, yellows and green everywhere you look. You take a big breath and begin walking down the path. The soft rhythmic crunch of leaves beneath your feet is almost hypnotic. It's just you and the trees and the soft sounds of nature. You are open and receptive. You continue one foot in front of the other relaxed and content. Before you know it, you come to a crossroad where you can either go straight or turn onto a different path. Whichever way you choose, you do it confidently knowing you picked the right way. The day is bright and the air is clean. You soak in the grounding energy of the trees and continue on your way without hurry. You know you'll get there when you are meant to. The rhythmic crunch of the leaves keeping time as you walk. You are satisfied and content sinking into all the wonders of nature around you. You catch yourself looking forward to tomorrow. You've been waiting so long and now it's finally here. You knew you would get here. You are full of elation and excitement as you think about how it's all going to go. You know everything always works out in your favor. Now you have proof. As you continue along your path envisioning what tomorrow is bringing you see your destination. You feel yourself settling back into your body full of gratitude for what is to come. You reach out your hand to open the door and step inside.
A closing note...
As with anything, visualization gets easier the more you spend time doing it. Try this visualization right before you fall asleep at night, then pay attention to your dreams. If you have a hard time remembering your dreams, try to immediately think on what you were just doing right when you wake up. You'd be surprised at what you can bring back when you do it. I hope you enjoyed this fall visualization and you are able to deepen the connection with your nature.
